he would say hi to my dad and my dad would ignore him.
i know now that my father feels bad for that, but at the same time he had no choice.

I was actually thinking of starting a topic about this very issue this weekend.
In the early 90’s I was leaving a DC in Columbus Ohio. I think that it was the end of the day Sunday and there were scores of people picketing. They were yelling and trying to get the attention of the general rank and file as they left the assembly. There was a literal fence of JW “brothers” holding hands, keeping the picketers back, and prevented me from getting a good look at any of their signs. I remember thinking to my self that the picketers were real whackos. I mean, think about it, I would have done anything to have avoided a boring assembly and here are people that don’t have to be there and yet there they are trying to get some message across. For the first time I realized that these were the people the society were warning about all those years. The actually did exist and the WBTS wasn’t just blowing smoke. They were apostates who would do anything to destroy my relationship with Jehovah.
I remember my mom’s friend with whom we were staying for the duration of the assembly commented on how wonderful it was that Jehovah had made provisions for those “brothers” to protect us from the apostates.

My son will be 9 tomorrow and we celebrated his first b-day yesterday!
by findingmyway init was a surprise and he felt a little awkward -- especially when we sang the birthday song -- but he embraced it.
he was so excited to see that everyone came for him and brought gifts and he was very appreciative!
i am so happy that i did it!.

The only thing that would change in my life would be my relationship with my mother. She is the only JW in the family at this point. The WTBS has been eliminated from my life entirely except from my relationship with her and the time I spend on this board.
If I were disfellowshipped today that would give me something to post about here, so in a way it could possibly enhance my life. LOL.
Who knows though, I may have been disfellowshipped already and just am not aware of it?

THE MOTIVES OF GOOD JWS WHO POST ON THIS SITE
by steve2 inwhile i think it's perfectly okay, i do wonder what motivates jws to post here and especially to also express views critical of ex-jws.
is it the freudian notion of "projection": the jw who denounces something in others that he or she is also guilty of?
hence, if a jw clearly denounces an apostate's faults, it must mean the jw is really against apostasy when it might be something he or she struggles with.

IMO the JW's that post on this site are not good because if they were good according to the rules and regulations of the WBTS they wouldn't even be on line or reading posts on this site let alone actually posting and conversing with the likes of the people here.
